She was born with an umbilical cord wrapped around her neck. due to which she couldn’t speak until six years of age. Ronda won a gold medal in the pan American championship in 2004, earned gold again in judo in 2005, won silver in 2006 and bronze in 2007. she also won gold in the pan American games in 2007 in judo.
